10 cents per can goes to Fairventures Worldwide: Fairventures is involved in the reforestation of degraded rainforest areas on the island of Borneo in Indonesia. The team at the Stuttgart-based non-profit organisation is convinced that reforestation is more than just planting trees. Fairventures' agroforestry approach aims to achieve an ecologically, socially and economically sustainable solution that benefits everyone.

The “Fairventures worldwide” project

Fairventures works with hundreds of smallholders in the province of Central Kalimantan on an equal footing. Fairventures supports them with training and free seedlings. Planting trees and intercrops provides a sustainable income for them and their families.

Carbon is also stored in each tree planted. The wood is later used in construction and continues to sequester some of the carbon, while at the same time new trees are growing. This also saves the greenhouse gases that would have been used in building with concrete and steel. At the same time, the agroforestry model used restores biodiversity and makes an active contribution to environmental protection and nature conservation. With the Terra Canis 'Tree Lover' menu, 10 cents from every can purchased goes to this long-term project in Indonesia.
