Get to know the faces behind Terra Canis
JENS & SVEN
After learning the butchery trade and following many years of experience in the Bavarian family butchery Schäbitz, Jens and Sven are now responsible for the production of Terra Canis – because our master butcher Hermann Schäbitz is entering well-deserved retirement after more than 40 years in the industry.
Even as a little girl, Birgitta Ornau loved dogs, cats and horses. When she got her first dog Sueno (= dream), which she rescued from being put down in Spain, she started to think about how dogs and cats can be fed in a way in which nature intended.
For almost 15 years, Hermann Schäbitz and his Bavarian family butcher’s shop has stood for the excellent, special quality of our menus. Pet food was produced for the first time in a genuine human food company using exclusively human-grade quality ingredients. As the exclusive supplier, partner and friend of Terra Canis, he was the figurehead for Terra Canis production right from the very beginning. With the opening of our new dedicated production facility, he will now be able to enjoy his well-deserved retirement.
Veterinarian Katrin Stephan turned her passion for animals into a career and, as an expert in dog and cat nutrition, she is head of product development and nutritional advice at Terra Canis.
DR. MARTIN BUCKSCH
Dr Martin Bucksch is a veterinarian, author and keen dog owner. Since 2011 he has been providing Terra Canis with help and advice as consultant, product developer and medical adviser. In 1992 Dr Bucksch completed his studies in veterinary medicine in Italy with distinction.
DR. YVONNE KOSANKE
Dr Yvonne Kosanke is part of the veterinary team for nutritional advice at Terra Canis and is happy to answer your questions about our products. Growing up with dogs and cats in the beautiful Alpine foothills, she wanted to become a vet even in kindergarten and later had the opportunity to study veterinary medicine in Munich.
