In 2005, the same year Terra Canis was founded, Schäbitz Butchers secured a unique permit from the government of Upper Bavaria. This historic approval marked them as the first human-grade quality food production business authorized to produce animal feed. This milestone became possible because every ingredient processed for our dog menus adhered to the stringent standards required for human consumption: 100% traceable human-grade quality.

Hermann Schäbitz and Birgitta Ornau, Terra Canis' founder, achieved unparalleled quality in the animal feed sector, setting revolutionary standards. After an illustrious 40-year career, Hermann Schäbitz retired in 2019, passing the legacy to the next generation. Today, all Terra Canis menus continue to be crafted under the guidance of master butchers, ensuring a level of quality that's not just seen but also smelled and tasted just like a delicisous home-cooked meal!
