Ocean Lover

Support the ocean cleanup with every purchase

Seas of plastic, oil slicks, overfishing and “ghost nets” – our seas have to deal with diverse, ever graver environmental challenges. For every can of the Ocean Lover menu which is sold, 10 cents are donated to the environmental project “One Earth - One Ocean” (OEOO). Since 2011, this charitable organisation based in Munich and Kiel has made it its aim to free bodies of water worldwide from plastic rubbish, as well as from oil and chemical pollution. In the Ocean Saver Menu, juicy duck meat meets energy-rich millet, vitamin-laden beetroot and vital substances from the sea (Sango coral, oyster shell, cod liver oil, seaweed, sea salt) – with 100% human-grade quality of all ingredients.

The project: One Earth One Ocean

For every can of the Terra Canis Ocean Lover menu which is sold, 10 cents are donated to the environmental project “One Earth - One Ocean” (OEOO). Since 2011, this charitable organisation based in Munich and Kiel has made it its aim to free bodies of water worldwide from plastic rubbish, as well as from oil and chemical pollution. The multi-level “maritime rubbish disposal” plan for the disposal of coastal plastic pollution in the sea aims to collect plastic from bodies of water worldwide using a fleet of special rubbish collection ships, before recycling it or turning it back into oil. As of 2020, there were “One Earth - One Ocean” projects for cleaning up plastic rubbish from bodies of water in Cambodia, Brazil, Indonesia and Egypt. Special rubbish collection ships are used, which have names such as “SeeHamster” (Sea Hamster) or “SeeKuh” (Sea Cow). Another "Sea Cow” will start operations mid-2020. The organisation is also active in Germany and internationally in terms of research into microplastics, as well as in education, awareness-raising and documentation with regard to the subject of marine littering. As far back as 2013, OEOO won the renowned GreenTec Award – Europe’s biggest prize for environment and business – for its maritime rubbish disposal concept. In 2019, the organisation was awarded the German Ecodesign Award from the German Federal Environment Ministry for its new concept for the rubbish processing ship SeeElefant (Sea Elephant), which is planned for 2021.

Ocean Lover

Duck with beetroot, sea buckthorn and seafood delicacies

The Ocean Lover menu contains loads of great, healthy ingredients from the coast and the sea – without using any fish from overfished species, or any marine plants which are at risk of extinction. Healthy seas and intact coasts have plenty of healthy treasures to offer – for dogs, too! In the Ocean Lover Menu, juicy duck meat meets energy-rich millet, vitamin-laden beetroot and vital substances from the sea (Sango coral, oyster shell, seaweed, sea salt). Coconut flour and fennel ensure your dog’s gut bacteria stay in balance, as well as providing valuable nutrients and fibre. Sea buckthorn provides high levels of vitamin C for a strong immune system which will defy even the strongest of sea breezes, while cod liver oil provides energy, valuable fatty acids and additional vitamins. Aromatic herbs such as lovage, lavender and sage round off the healthy coastal menu, as do other natural additions.
