Important Information Regarding the Improved Formula of Our “Alimentum Veterinarium LOW PROTEIN” Line
The update is based on the latest scientific findings in animal nutrition. The aim is to tailor the composition even more precisely to the specific needs of dogs with kidney disease – while strictly adhering to the guidelines of the European Pet Food Industry Federation (FEDIAF) and current legal requirements for dietary complete feeds (Regulation for Feed Intended for Particular Nutritional Purposes).
What exactly has been improved?
-
Optimised vitamin and mineral profile
The revised formula includes a carefully balanced blend of vitamins and minerals – especially potassium, sodium and water-soluble vitamins – to better meet the nutritional needs associated with kidney conditions. -
Adjusted meat content to regulate protein and phosphorus
The quantity of animal ingredients has been adjusted so that the levels of protein and phosphorus meet dietary requirements exactly. High-quality protein sources are used to ensure adequate supply of essential amino acids, even with a reduced protein content. -
Increased energy content through selected fat sources
To ensure sufficient calorie intake – especially in the context of lower protein content – the energy density has been increased using selected high-quality animal fats. These serve as easily digestible sources of energy and help maintain your dog’s nutritional condition. -
Overall goal of the formula adjustment: more targeted support for kidney disease
Our special diet continues to follow the proven principles of renal nutrition:- Reduced protein content to ease the strain on the kidneys
- High-quality protein to meet amino acid requirements
- Low phosphorus content to slow disease progression
- Increased fat content to meet energy needs
- Balanced supply of vitamins and minerals
Our dietary feeds are developed with veterinary expertise and to the highest quality standards. The new formula in the “LOW PROTEIN” range is the result of our ongoing commitment to providing dogs with kidney disease with a medically appropriate, nutritionally sound and tasty diet.
