As a pioneer in the pet industry, Terra Canis revolutionised the standard for species-appropriate nutrition in 2005: We were the first to use only 100% human-grade quality for all ingredients for dog and cat food. What we take for granted was a novelty at the time - made possible by a special licence from the government of Upper Bavaria and the partnership with the traditional Munich butcher's Schäbitz.
Like home-made - visible, smellable, tasteable
Every Terra Canis meal looks and smells freshly cooked - not by chance, but the result of careful recipe development by vets and master butchers. They can contain:
• whole pieces of meat instead of meat and bone meal
• Fresh vegetables and fruit with a high vitamin content
• healthy herbs and superfoods for the immune system
• high-quality oils such as salmon or coconut oil for skin, coat and brain performance
Our products are modelled on home-cooked meals - only better controlled, better tolerated and fully declared.

With us, you know what goes into your dog’s bowl. We do not use animal by-products of unclear origin, artificial additives or fillers. Instead, we guarantee:

Born out of love - grown out of responsibility
The idea for Terra Canis came from a personal story: Our founder Birgitta Ornau rescued her first dog Sueño from a Spanish euthanasia centre - and realised that no dog food on the market met her ethical, sensory and quality requirements. Her indignation turned into a mission: to create the best food she could wish for her pet.
This attitude still characterises us today - emotionally, honestly and responsibly.
